StAr training hearing protection and earmolds part I: custom hearing enhancement
Duration: 4 hours | StAr points: 23 | theory and practice
Thanks to digital manufacturing capabilities, developments in earpiece designs have not stood still. We will take you through the latest possibilities in this area. We will not only look at the cosmetic aspect but also at the acoustic effects of drilling, vents and materials. In addition, we will explain how to get the optimal acoustic performance from a hearing aid. In addition to our own research, Dr. De Laat of Leiden University Medical Center has also investigated the acoustic differences between hollow earmolds (shells, LifeShells, Deep-Fit RICs) and the results will also be presented during this training. Materials in relation to allergic reactions will also be discussed in more detail. During the practical part, you can practice attaching RIC pieces to the different recievers, see and learn the criteria a good impression must meet to be approved, and practice changing the tubing with different types of earmolds.
Maximum number of participants: 10 | Price including lunch: €280,- p.p. or free*

StAr training hearing protection and earpieces part II: hearing protection
Duration: 4 hours | StAr points: 23 | theory and practice
In this training, you will be fully informed on all relevant issues on the subject of hearing protection in one go. Consumers can go to an audiology store for good quality hearing protection, but before that, education is important. During audiologist training courses, hearing damage caused by loud noise and hearing protection are insufficiently discussed. As a result, hearing care professionals sometimes lack up-to-date product knowledge and information. After this training you will be up to date on legislation, attenuation values, performance differences and other possibilities.

StAr training in earpiece processing.
Duration: 6 hours | StAr points: 45 | theory and practice
Comfoor’s custom earpieces are modeled to 60 nanometers from the ear impression. Despite this precision, it can always happen that you would like even more openness in the ear. Or, for example, instead of an open earmold you may wish to fit an open earmold irocanal. Also enlarging a vent canal and adjustments of RIC pieces are jobs that regularly occur in practice.
How do you adequately change this and what do you need to do this?
This training is designed to refresh this specific part of the profession for experienced audiologists. Or for those who have not had this in training, to learn it. The theory part covers the following: Explanation of the different materials and which drills or cutters to use for this purpose. In the practical part, you will learn under your own supervision how to process the different types of earpieces in our laboratory.
Maximum number of participants: 6 | price including lunch is 600,- excluding VAT.
